White Bread Loaf

A very easy recipe for white bread loaf...

The quickest loaf of bread you will ever make!
The best thing about this recipe is that you can have warm delicious bread in about 2 hours. The crust is thick and the inside is so fluffy and soft. Everything about this bread screams comfort!!

Ingredients in white bread loaf
I wouldn’t suggest changing anything in this recipe, keep the ingredients and measurements the same and you won’t be disappointed.
Use regular all-purpose flour for best results.
Use instant or dry active yeast, both work great.
Use granulated sugar to activate the yeast.
You will also need warm water, salt and melted butter.
Tools you will need to make this
You don’t really need much to make this and you can easily use what you already have on hand.
You will need:
- Loaf Pan
- 2 mixing bowls
- Optional - Stand Mixer
- Wooden spoon
For measuring: 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, 1/3 cup, 1/2 cup, 1 cup.

White Bread Loaf
Ingredients
For yeast
- 2 - 1/2 teaspoons yeast
- 1 cup warm water
- 1 tablespoon sugar
For dough
- 4 - 1/2 cups all-purpose flour You can also use bread flour.
- 1/3 cup warm water
- 1 - 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with the dough attachment, add the yeast, the 1 cup of warm water and 1 tablespoon of sugar together. (You can use a normal mixing bowl then choose to knead with your hands instead)
- Let the yeast mixture sit for about 15 minutes.
- Add the rest of the ingredients, start by adding 4 cups of flour, warm water, salt, sugar and melted butter and start to mix together.
- If the mixture is still wet, add the last 1/2 cup of flour.
- Knead for about 10 minutes.
- Add the dough to a lightly oiled bowl, cover and place in a warm environment for an hour.
- Take out the dough and shape it into a rectangle by tucking in the edges.
- Add to the loaf pan and cover again for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 375°F/190°C.
- Bake the bread for 45 minutes, until the top is golden.
- Add some more melted butter and salt on top (optional).
- Let the loaf sit on a wire rack until slightly cooled before slicing.
