Ingredients in sweet and sour chicken
This recipe is extremely easy to make!
You will need chicken breast or thighs.
To make the sauce you will need, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar and honey.
You will also need cornstarch, flour and eggs to make this recipe.
Tools you will need to make this
You will need:
- 1 pan
- 3 bowls
- 1 cutting board
For measuring: 1/2 tsp, 1 tsp, 1 tbsp, 1/3 cup, 1/4 cup.

Ingredients
- 1 onion diced
- 1 garlic clove minced
- 3 tablespoons oil - for frying
- 2 eggs
- 3 tablespoons cornstarch/cornflour
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 chicken breast
- 2/3 cups ketchup
- 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- Prepare 3 bowls. In one bowl, add the cornflour/cornstarch.
- In the second bowl, add the flour, salt and pepper.
- In the third bowl, whisk the eggs.
- Cut the chicken breast into bite size pieces.
- Coat the chicken pieces in the cornstarch/cornflour.
- Transfer the chicken pieces to the egg mixture and then to the flour mixture.
- Add the oil and heat up the pan. Add the chicken pieces and cook for a few of minutes on each side, until golden.
- Transfer the chicken pieces to a plate and start the sauce.
- To the same pan, add the onion then garlic. Add the honey, brown sugar, ketchup and apple cider vinegar. Mix together until combined.
- Once the sauce starts to bubble, add in the chicken pieces and cook for a few more minutes.
- Add some sesame seeds on top and serve with some rice or noodles!
