One of my favorite recipes so far! These chicken meatballs make the most comforting dinner dish. Pair them with some rice and peanut sauce and let your taste buds screaaaam!


Ingredients in chicken meatballs with peanut sauce

You will need minced chicken, garlic, soy sauce, 1 egg, breadcrumbs, salt, pepper and parsley for the meatballs.

You can sub the breadcrumbs for ground oats.

You may opt to leave the soy sauce out.

For the peanut sauce you will need coconut milk - I prefer using the thick part on top for creamier results.

You will also need smooth peanut butter, honey or maple syrup, soy sauce, lemon juice, salt, pepper and optionally; curry paste.

You don’t really need much to make this recipe and you can easily use what you already have on hand.

For Chicken Meatballs

  • 17.6 oz minced chicken 500g
  • 1 minced garlic clove
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • Parsley for garnish

For Peanut Sauce

  • 3/4 cup coconut milk
  • 3 tablespoons smooth peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper


  • Start by adding all the chicken meatball ingredients to a bowl and mixing until combined.
  • Form the mixture into meatballs and set aside.
  • Add 1-2 tablespoons of oil to a frying pan and switch on to medium-heat.
  • Cook the meatballs for around 15 minutes, until gold and crispy on the outside.
  • In the meantime, start the peanut sauce.
  • On low heat, place all the sauce ingredients into the saucepan.
  • Whisk to combine until the sauce is smooth.
  • Serve the meatballs with the sauce. You can also add rice/noodles or anything you wish.
